Hahn will Launch Golf Initiative for Southeast LA on Saturday
$50,000 initiative targeted at women and youth is a collaboration with the Latina Golfers Association
Downey, CA — This Saturday, LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn will hold a free golf clinic to mark the launch of Tee It Up, her Golf Initiative for Southeast LA. Hahn will present a $50,000 check to the Latina Golfers Association (LGA), which will run the series of workshops and clinics for youth, women, and seniors at parks across Southeast Los Angeles.
“With this initiative we’re breaking down barriers that women and girls–and especially women and girls of color–face in the world of golf. I’m proud to partner with the Latina Golfers Association to bring these opportunities for fun and learning to our Southeast LA communities,” said Hahn.
The Latina Golfers Association was founded in 2008 with the goal of “empowering girls and women using golf as the vehicle to break gender and cultural barriers in the business world.” Through their participation in LGA programs, participants are able to take part in business and corporate golf outings and networking opportunities.
Media should RSVP to Liz Odendahl, lodendahl@bos.lacounty.gov.
