San Pedro, CA – Today, Long Beach Pride leaders announced that the annual Long Beach Pride Festival—originally scheduled to be held from tonight through Sunday—has been canceled.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, whose district includes Long Beach and who has sponsored the event, released the following statement:

“Long Beach Pride has been a beacon of joy, pride, and acceptance for decades. While I am happy that the Pride parade will go on as planned, I am disappointed that the festival has been canceled.

I hope that people will still come out and celebrate this weekend, enjoy the parade, and support the local Long Beach businesses that are just as proud as ever.”
