On July 5th, @TorranceCA's new 40-bed pallet shelter program will open its doors, providing unhoused people in this community and safe & comfortable place to stay while they get connected with long-term housing. Take a look:
I’ve always said: Any city in my District willing to approve a shelter in their community can count on me to get them the funding to make it happen. I want to thank @TorranceCA for stepping up & becoming the latest city to take me up on that offer. This is going to change lives.
In just a few days these pallet shelters will open their doors, giving 40 unhoused people in this community a safe and comfortable place to stay while they get connected with supportive services and permanent housing.
Speaking first at today’s ribbon-cutting is @TorranceCA Deputy City Manager Viet Hoang, giving some context on how this program came to be and why it is going to make such a difference in the lives of our unhoused neighbors.
Big day in @TorranceCA today: We’re cutting the ribbon on this 40-bed transitional housing program at the Civic Center. When it opens on July 5th, this program will provide a safe, comfortable place for people to stay while they get connected with permanent housing.
