Hahn Announces Food Distribution Events Amid CalFresh Cut Off
San Pedro, CA– Amid the ongoing federal government shutdown and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s suspension of funding for CalFresh and SNAP food benefits, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn is announcing four large scale food distribution events across her district. Supervisor Hahn’s Fourth District alone is home to 280,000 people who depend on CalFresh benefits.
“Hardworking LA County residents can’t afford to see their healthcare premiums double and I am proud of our Members of Congress who are fighting hard to prevent it,” said Supervisor Hahn. “But while their fight continues, the County is ready to this moment and we are marshalling resources to get food to people who need it during this shutdown.”
