Hahn Issues Statement on Pelosi's Announced Retirement

November 6, 2025

San Pedro, CA — Today, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn issued the following statement after Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she will not seek reelection:

“Nancy Pelosi’s retirement will mark the end of an era in American politics. She has been a force of nature—in Washington, in the Democratic Party, and here in California. She took power that women had never been allowed to hold and used it to deliver real progress for this nation. During my time in Congress, I watched her keep our diverse caucus united and leverage our collective power, even when we were in the minority. I wish her well in her retirement and I know her leadership will be felt for generations.”
