Supervisor Hahn Announces Year-Round Beach Shuttle Service

Los Angeles, CA  Today, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn announced that visitors and residents of Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, and Venice Beach will now be able to ride the popular “summer” beach shuttle all year long, for free.

“I want residents from all over LA County to be able to enjoy our world-class beaches with as little hassle as possible,” said Supervisor Hahn. “I encourage everyone to jump on board the beach shuttle next time you’re in Marina Del Ray. It’s fast, it’s free, and it will take you where you need to go.”

For years, the County-run beach shuttle has run weekends and holidays during summer months. This year, shuttle service started early (March 31) and, thanks to new funding from Supervisor Hahn and the County, will run year-round.  The new contract was approved unanimously by the board at the Board of Supervisors meeting April 18.

The beach shuttle runs through Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, and Venice Beach, and carries passengers to a number of sites including Fisherman’s Village, the Waterside Shopping Center, Mother’s Beach and the Venice Beach Pier.

The shuttle runs on Fridays and Saturdays (10am-10pm), Sundays and holidays (10am-8pm), and during the community’s various special events like the Marina del Rey and Playa Vista Summer Concert Series and the Abbot Kinney Festival.
