Hahn Issues Statement after Wilmington Explosion Injures Firefighters
Wilmington, CA—Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn issued the following statement after a compressed natural gas powered semi-truck explosion injured Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters who were on the scene:
“I want to express my solidarity with the Los Angeles Fire Department in the wake of the terrible accident this morning in Wilmington where a natural gas explosion has injured nine firefighters who were on the scene working to protect the community. My prayers are with each of those firefighters and their families and with the entire department. I have no doubt our LA County doctors and nurses are doing everything they can to save their lives. I have represented Wilmington for decades now and I know that with the truck traffic in that area, a tragedy like this one is something the community has worried about for a long time.”
