Supervisor Janice Hahn Releases Statement on Arrest of Suspect in Murder of Susan Leeds

Los Angeles, CA—LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn has released the following statement regarding the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Susan Leeds, a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes who was stabbed to death in her car in the parking garage of the Promenade shopping center in Rolling Hills Estates on May 3:

“I want to thank Sheriff McDonnell, Captain Beringer, and the Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives for their dedication to this case and to the safety of the neighborhoods they patrol. The violent murder of Susan Leeds shocked the community and I am grateful that there is a suspect in custody. While nothing can make up for their loss, I hope that Susan’s family and friends can at least take comfort in knowing that the Sheriff’s Department is working hard to bring her murderer to justice.

“Investigators still need the public’s help. There were people in the parking garage when this murder occurred and we need all potential eye witnesses to come forward with anything suspicious they may have seen that day. If you have any information please call the Homicide Bureau at 1 (800) 222-8477”
