Board of Supervisors to Vote on Support for Federal Stimulus

Board of Supervisors to Vote on Support for Federal Stimulus

Los Angeles, CA – On Tuesday, December 8, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote on a motion by Supervisor Janice Hahn to formally support the latest proposal of a federal Coronavirus stimulus package.

“The CARES Act was critical funding for us at the beginning of this pandemic—but we have been largely abandoned by the federal government since then,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn. “With a new real federal funding package, we could pay people to stay home and pay businesses to stay closed. It would be the most effective tool we would have to fight this virus in the final stretch before a vaccine is widely available.”

The motion to be considered Tuesday calls for the Board of Supervisors to send a five-signature letter in support of the recent bipartisan $908 billion Federal Pandemic Relief Proposal and any other Federal proposals that will help provide critical relief to the County and its residents.

While we’ve all been waiting all summer long, and now into winter for a Federal relief, the Board of Supervisors continued relentless lockdowns and sends out the virus police to shut down and issue fines to good people. The Board needs to realize we need a real economy, not just some intermittent federal dollars. Our economy was the best thing going, now it’s dead. And if you think that a few federal stimulus dollars will fix it. Think again. Whats wrong with government, WE THE PEOPLE make this County, State, County, City what it is, NOT the government. Get out of our way. A few dollars in relief isn’t going to bring back the tens of thousands of closed and lost jobs. The LA BOS is as responsible as the idiots in Sacramento.
