Today is the grand opening of @PATHPartners' Villas in South Gate, a permanent supportive housing project with 59 apartments for veterans and people who have experienced homelessness.

The Exide battery plant in Vernon polluted Southeast LA County for decades then walked away by declaring bankruptcy, leaving communities with a massive spill still in their backyards. The cleanup effort is still short by millions of dollars — but today we took steps to fix that.
We need to do all we can to protect kids from abuse, but too many families (particularly Black/Indigenous families) are separated for reasons that actually stem from poverty. Today our Board approved my plan to solve this problem with something called pre-petition legal advocacy.
