Supervisor Hahn to Honor Wounded Veteran and Paralympic Gold Medalist

Los Angeles, CA—At the upcoming meeting of the Board of Supervisors on April 10, Supervisor Hahn will honor wounded Marine Corps veteran and Paralympic Gold Medalist Ralph DeQuebec. DeQuebec competed in the 2018 Paralympic Games in PyeongChang on the US Sled Hockey Team.  He grew up in the 4th district and is a graduate of San Pedro High School.

Marine Gunnery Sergeant DeQuebec is a bilateral above-knee amputee after being injured in Afghanistan by an improvised explosive device while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2012.

On Tuesday, Supervisor Hahn will present Marine Gunnery Sergeant DeQuebec with a scroll from the County of Los Angeles celebrating his Gold Medal victory in PyeongChang.  A video of the final seconds of the gold medal game against Canada will be shown in the meeting.

This moment is very special to the Supervisor and the entire Fourth District team! Ralph DeQuebec’s mother is Tina, Supervisor Hahn’s longtime scheduler.
