Supervisor Hahn Celebrates the Rotary Club of Wilmington’s 90th Anniversary

Los Angeles, CA–Today, LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn honored members of the Wilmington Rotary Club in celebration of their 90th Anniversary during the weekly Board of Supervisor’s meeting.

“The Rotary Club of Wilmington believes in giving back to the community, while having fun doing it,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn. “I want to thank them for their 90 years of service to the residents of Wilmington and here is to 90 more years!”

An honorary life-long member of the Lawndale Rotary Club, Supervisor Hahn recognized the members of the Wilmington Rotary Club not only for their incredible service to the community but also their commitment to fostering diversity.

The Rotary Club of Wilmington lives up to the rotary’s motto of Service Above Self. During the past 90 years, the Rotary Club founded the Boys and Girls Club of Wilmington, remodeled the libraries of 7 local schools, organized tree plantings, provided Thanksgiving Baskets to needy families, and much more.

90 years ago, the Club’s founding members were 27 men. Under President Cecilia Moreno and her predecessor’s leadership, the Rotary Club of Wilmington has achieved greater gender parity; today, two-thirds of their members are women.
