Supervisor Hahn Celebrates Safe Surrender of Infant in Pomona
Los Angeles, CA- Today, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn announced that a baby girl was safely surrendered at a hospital in Pomona. The Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN) just learned of the surrender although the surrender took place August 21, 2017.
“Thanks to the Safe Surrender program, this baby has the chance to grow up in a loving, caring home,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn. “Safe Surrender allows mothers in desperate situations to make the right decision for themselves and their baby.”
With this surrender now confirmed, there have been nine surrenders thus far in 2017 and the 159 surrenders since the SafeSurrender program began in 2001.
