Supervisor Hahn Addresses Historic Women’s March

In an impassioned speech, Supervisor Hahn stood outside City Hall and addressed the 750,000 L.A. County residents who streamed into Downtown L.A. on Saturday morning to protest President Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric on his first full day of office. She vowed to lead by example and defend the progressive values and civil rights of all L.A. County residents at every single turn:

“In LA County, we are going to prove that it is better to recognize women for their brains than their bodies. We are going to prove that it is better to champion the diversity of our communities as a strength rather than deriding it as a weakness. We are going to prove it is better to elevate public dialogue instead of resorting to name-calling and twitter rants. We are going to prove it is better to recognize that love is love no matter whether you are gay, straight, bisexual, or trans. We are going to prove it is better to build bridges that unite us rather than walls that divide us. In LA County, we are ready to lead by example. We are not standing idly by. We are taking matters into our own hands.”
