Jocelyn Rivera-Olivas happily joins the County family after working for Supervisor Hahn’s congressional office. As her Deputy Legislative Director, Jocelyn staffed Congresswoman Hahn for both the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Small Business Committee. In addition, she managed and set policy for the Congressional PORTS Caucus for which the Congresswoman was Co-Chair. While in Washington, D.C. Jocelyn completed the Foreign Policy Fellowship with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and was a Congressional Security Scholar with the Truman National Security Project and Center for National Policy.
Prior to working in Congress, Jocelyn was a Deputy Regional Field Director for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. She hired, managed, and conducted state-wide trainings for Regional Field Organizers, Fellows, and hundreds of volunteers. In addition, she facilitated region-wide events such as phone banks, watch parties, and fundraisers President Obama attended.
Jocelyn was born and raised in Long Beach, CA. She is a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley where she studied Political Science, Public Policy, and Spanish Language and Literature.
